Titles and positions

We live in such a superficial world where we look to titles to mean something. Titles gives us means to know who is in charge and who is getting pushed around. However, titles can be very manipulative in today's business world. We try to find the most sophisticated way to say the following:

Owner or Boss:

President
Chief Executive Officer
Member of the Firm
Principal
Shareholder

Basically in today's world you can just take what you do and put Chief in front of make it official.

Chief Administrative Officer
Chief Accounting Officer

Why not just Chief and drop the rest. No, No we need ten chiefs one over each department and then about then over that Chief with the title Chief guru and then some more Chiefs over them. Organizational Charts are just mind blowing these days.

I say at my work just put my title as Specialist. Someone might ask Specialist at what? I will answer Specialist at making myself both feel and sound important.

Fancy Words needed to spice up a title:

Professional
Specialist
Executive
Consultant
Expert
Chief
Officer
Technician
Manager

Just to give you an example my brother works for a small business of four people. Three of the four people are owners and the fourth one is him. Basically he is the only employee of the business for many years. Now he has one fancy title but why when he is the only employee. His title is important for marketing purposes of course. Also it helps to give people a fancy title to compensate for the low pay and benefits. I know in business that what do to make people feel important is to give them a fancy title even though they do the same thing as other employees with shorter uncomplicated titles.

It always happens when someone gets promoted to a level the following employees at that level will try to compare to see if that person got the same treatment as them or others. You know to see if everything is fair and balanced. This is just a loss cause because the world is not fair and balanced. Each employee is different and has different strides and paths through his or her tenure at a company. No one is the same. Also their is favoritism in today's world. Everyone wants to pretend like their is no favorites. Everyone in the world has a favorite something whether it be football team, television show, comedian, color, food, and etc. Mainly humans have a bias and its called being human. Just look at any business you will see in a business where someone family member mainly their son or daughter as a high executive in the company. Did that employee have earn his or her title in that company just like Mr. joe employee. No and that is the way the world works and its not going to change.

This is just something I thought I would share with you. If you have any fancy titles for jobs to share please leave a comment. Please check back because I plan on updating this blog a lot more often.

Comedian update

Anthony Jeselnik the stand-up comedian and television writer. Jeselnik was named one of Comedy Central's breakout comedians of 2009. Jeselnik has stated many times in advice to practicing beginning comedians that he believes the most important step in the career is learning to continue acts even when no one is laughing, because there is no better practice against heckling. In 2010 released his debut album, Shakespeare

(Punchline Magazine named his album Shakespeare the best comedy album of 2010.) DO NOT BUY until you listen to some examples of his comedy on youtube on sample it on itunes.

I bought his CD just because of his rating on punchline magazine.com. However, this was a huge mistake on my part.

In no way did I think this album deserved to be the album of the year in 2010. I guess punchline thought it was great just based on the fact that after every joke Jeselnik will tell you himself that the joke was awesome or the best joke. Half of his standup is either complimenting his jokes or telling you a story about how someone didn't like one of his jokes.

However I do think he does a good impression of Dane Cook. He even looks a lot like Dane. I can't stand Dane Cook by the way either.

I believe the ones that should have replaced this one should have been the ones below

BILL BURR – LET IT GO
Though it seemed nearly impossible for Bill Burr to outdo his last release, Why Do I Do This? from last year, he’s done it. Let it Go finds the respected comedian in top form.

BO BURNHAM – WORDS WORDS WORDS
If you had residual doubt as to whether Bo Burnham was not as much a comedian as he just was a YouTube star, his newest effort should fix that. Burnham combines piano and guitar based songs, beat poetry, hip-hop and straight stand-up to deliver wall-to-wall laughs.

Ironically both of these were on Punchline magazines. The 10 Must-have stand-up comedy DVDs from 2010.

The best one out of them that is not even listed on punchline because it was only a digital download album in 2010 was Brian Regan's All By Myself.
It was released on December 7, 2010, so that had something to do with it to to not make the punchline magazine's website. However, if you search punchline you won't fine Brian Regan review or other items anywhere on the site.

All By Myself, was everything I hoped it would be. I had seen him twice on tour in 2010 and it was awesome. For the second show in August in New Orleans he had dyed his hair blonde which made him gets tons of laughs at the beginning of the show before even speaking a word.

Source for that ticket to see the comedy workhorse.

Internet also gives its appreciation,

Sites for each comedian by the dozen.

Fan projects to the mainstream of punchline magazine,

Presenting reviews and links on the comedian’s routine.

Fandom will give way for them to make to the flat screen,

Comedy Central, Home Box Office is the where the specials can be seen.

Specials that on DVD can be the best gift,

A gift that can entertain and uplift.

Not only through video but some choose to do comedy in a book,

Ron White’s : I Had the Right to Remain Silent.

Some use stand up as their gateway into Hollywood,

Jim Carrey, Ray Ramono, and even Dane Cook.

In everything their winners and losers,

Box office flops to the hits or bankers.

Dreaded “Good Luck Chuck” or the highlight “Hangover”

Stand-up talent gives material for the comedian, author, and actor,

All in the interest to entertain the audience with the perfect gift.

Christmas

This Christmas I got everything I asked for. It was great I got tickets to go see Brian Regan (one of my favorite comedians).

I also got a ping pong table and I have so enjoyed that. I also got an Apple TV and clothes which is awesome!

Unfortunately Christmas would have been complete had the Colts continued to go undefeated but the coaches took the starters out of the game in the 3rd Quarter!! They wound up losing the game so they could rest their players!! This Christmas I watched some movies that get me in the spirit of the season which are: Its A Wonderful Life, Charlie Brown Christmas, and others. For some reason this year I watched Bad Santa which was pretty stupid of me seeing that it is such bad movie.

These recent stories involving Tiger Woods many people have been asking me what I think of him now. I have been a fan of Tiger Woods the golf player since 1997. I watched the 1997 Masters as a mesmerized 7th grader that had never seen a player so dominate. I was an instant fan and followed golf only because I wanted to see how this man would change the game of golf. In my mind, golf would not be where it is today without Tiger Woods. I know for me and my friends that any time we go play golf Tiger Woods is brought up in some way. Most of the time its when someone shoots an impossible shot. That what he is known as the man that always made the impossible shot. The one big thing about Tiger Woods that I have always like is that you could never count him out of a tournament.

I am a fan of Tiger Woods the player of golf. I am not a fan of him as a person. He is a Buddhist first of all which I don't like but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop being a fan because of his religion. I don't believe that just because your a fan of someone your automatically condoning everything that they do. I am still a fan even after what has come out about him with all these different women. He is the greatest golf player of all time in my mind. What he does in his personal life doesn't erase history and his past accomplishments. It just lets people that have always liked Phil Mickelson or some other player have ammunition against him now. Now he is not seen as this perfect athlete. My mind he is still the greatest golf player of all time because of what he does on the course not off of it.

People have asked me a bunch of if questions that would I stop being a fan "if he killed somebody or some other horrible crime." I would answer that with Tiger Woods would no longer be able to play golf if he was convicted of murder. So then he is not able to play golf then I am no longer going to root for him. If he playing the game of golf at the level he does then yes I am going to be a fan of him. This is because the man is the best player in the world. If you are a fan of golf than how can you not marvel at what the man has accomplished. This is about being a sports fan. He is the best athlete at his sport. I never knew you had to be a fan of the whole person not just what he or she is able to do and accomplish at their sport.

We have all been caught being fans of someone doing something immoral.

I can't believe the whole hour has the same subject. Mitch does sex humor like Chris Rock with racial humor. I thought it was hilarious. The way he does that small sly voice is great touch. Funny Bone in VA Beach

I was Virginia Beach this prior week for work and went to the Funny Bone while I was there. I went with a coworker to see the featured comedian Lynne Koplitz. The coworker I went with was a lady that is in her 50s. When we got to the door the man asked did we want to sent toward the front or in the back. I said Id rather be in the front then in the back. Thinking we get in the middle but ole no we were right beside the stand within an arm distance. I could practically hold the hand of the comedian on stage. Within two minutes of Lynne being onstage I regretted the decision of choosing the front. She looked over at us and noticed the distance between the coworker and I and asked are ya'll married? I answered with No and then she asked are you dating and I was "No." Then, she asked well how do you know each other? I said we are coworkers and then she goes off to about three or four jokes about coworkers and all kinds of stuff. Then, starts asking me questions again like are either one of you married and I said I am and then she was like does your wife know that your out at a comedy club with a coworker? I said yes and then she asked tell me exactly where she thinks you are? I said she think I am in VA beach. Then she got the clue that I was out of town on business and asked where I was from. I said Mississippi. Terrible answer by the way. After about 10 hillbilly jokes she asked me for my name. Funny thing that Lynne couldn't even get me a free beer at the Funny Bone. She kept thinking I was mad for her picking on me and ordering the waitress to bring me a beer, however it never happened. Another funny thing is look at the picture below and how old would you guess Lynne is?

She is 42!!!!!! Pictures are worth a 1,000 words.

By the way Lynne was funny and definitely worth all the harassment. I will always remember this experience.

I received this email and thought it was hilarious... I didn't write any of these and cant give the person that did credit because I have no idea who it was..

Random Thoughts of the Day:

1. More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

4. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

5. Was learning cursive really necessary?

6. Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

7. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

8. Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

9. Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".
10. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!

11. MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

12. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

13. I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

14. I would like to officially coin the phrase 'catching the swine flu' to be used as a way to make fun of a friend for hooking up with an unsightly woman. Example: "Dave caught the swine flu last night."

15. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

16. Bad decisions make good stories…ain’t that the truth!

17. Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!
18. Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?

19. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.

20. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

21. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

22. I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'

23. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damnit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail.

24. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

25. When I meet a new girl, I'm terrified of mentioning something she hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking.

26. Why is a school zone 20 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...

27. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

28. It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.

29. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

30. I think that if, years down the road when I'm trying to have a kid, I find out that I'm sterile, most of my disappointment will stem from the fact that I was not aware of my condition in college.
31. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, hitting the G-spot, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...

Big Break from the Blog

I have taken a long break from the blog here lately. I have really missed posting reviews of comedy. About a week ago I watched a special by John Heffron called: Middle Class Funny. The special was real funny mainly because I'm a big John Heffron fan.

The one main thing I like about the special is he does some his best hits from his early CDs. I like when comedians do a bunch of new comedy and then give you a taste of what bits made them famous. Brian Regan does this same thing where he hill do his main performance of all new stuff. Then, as an encore he comes out and takes request from the crowd of his greatest hits to perform. John Heffron is also on twitter and does update quite frequently.

Recently, I also watched the special by Jim Bruer: Let's Clear the Air. I just remember him from Half Baked with Dave Chappelle. He refers to this movie that made him famous in the special which is kinda cool. I thought the performance was kinda of dull though for some reason. I really can't give a good reason it wasn't funny but only that I didn't like it.

I also watched the special Funny People Live: which was a special about the comedians in the movie Funny People. I only watched about ten minutes of the special because it just seemed really lame and ameturish for some reason.

REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

I went and watched Transformers 2 last night and it not surprising to see a packed theater of anxious fans to see this huge budget film. The movie starts off with a little tale that goes back to 17,000 BC and that the transformers have been here from the beginning. The opening shot of the past lasted about 5 seconds and then it shoots to the present. It comes to the present where Optimus Prime is helping the humans fight the decepticons all over the globe. In this movie they are really showing how much they know Megan Fox is hot. This is the opening shot that she appeared in the movie with the camera dying to see up the shorts. The weird thing about this film is how funny it was. Throughout the whole film are jokes and funny scenes and really seem to lighten the mood of the film. The funniest person is this film is the mother of Sam Witwicky played by Julie White. One of her funny scenes is her crying about her son (Sam) going off to college and she has his boots from when he was a baby around her neck. Their house gets destroyed and throughout the whole scene she is just spitting out funny line after funny line. When they get to the college she eats some weed and really becomes obnoxious and even more hilarious. Yes, Sam Witwicky goes off to college and thats when this movie becomes really confusing. Right when Sam get to college he already has a girl trying to seduce him. Right off the bat you something is different about and your just waitning to turn into a transformer. She does and its one with a very long tail and very long tongue. Wow but was she hott!!!!! I have to say one main thing about this film is that an editor would have been a good investment. The movie had a lot of pointless scenes that drug the movie out over two hours. The length would not have been so evident to me if I was able to follow it. However, the movie went from a sliver of the cube from Transformers 1 let Sam becaome a genius and see a language of the prime which were a autobot ancestor from the beginning of time. Then we go for around the world with different showing up and new robots where just a big cluster of different people and storylines. Im alone of this fact because at the end of the film it got a standing ovation in a Ms theatre which is very rare!!!!!!. Below was my favorite parts of the film.

get the point what makes this film is the new concept cars, hot women, funny script, and awesome visual effect. These points make the strange storyline take a backseat and you just sit back and enjoy the spectacle that is in front of you.

The only way this movie is to do it by

Visual Effects: 5 stars
Acting : 3 stars
Entertaining: 4 stars
storyline 2.5 stars

Average is 3.625 stars.

The MTV commercials that show Andy Samberg as the host really don't give a good indication of what has made him so popular. I looked him up on Wikipedia and realized that I big fan of his collaboration with pop music stars.

New York Trip

Since my blog really doesn't have that big of a following I think I can write about my trip to New York City an no one be really disappointed. We went to New York on a family trip. The people that went was Jessica (my wife) her mom, dad, little brother, and myself. We got there Sunday, May 17, 2009, at around 1:00pm there time. As soon as we got there we got a good taxi experience. We got a taxi driver that didn't speak english which I think is pretty common in New York. Just to give an example of the cost of a taxi ride the airport was 12 miles from our hotel and it cost $32 for the taxi ride. You can ride on the metro rail all week long as much as you want for fifty dollars. Why would take a taxi well I fill you on that later. We stayed at the Hampton Inn on 31st St off of Seventh Avenue. After getting checked into our hotel we went O'Reillys to eat lunch which served Italian food. I had the Chicken Alfredo and it was the best alfredo I have ever had. Sunday we didn't have any plans just to go to Central Park and go to some Market that my wife had heard about. Well we got to central park and it was really something spectacular to see in the middle of huge city. Central Park has a lot of things to do and see. Well we didn't see much because our crew couldn't make up there minds if they wanted to see the park or find this market Jess knew about. Well they finally decided to find this Market and we asked some people where this thing was and every person had a different direction for us to find this crazy thing that I don't think existed. So after walking in circles for about an hour we finally found this blocked off little flea market that had some tents set up selling odd and end stuff to the public. My wife thought this was what she had been looking for but once we got up to it we saw that it was really just crap that no one wants. Then we saw this sign that says go inside cafeteria to see 40 more vendors and their glorious inventory. So we went to find this cafeteria and it was exactly what it said an old high school cafeteria that still had the tables with the stools connected to tables. These were used for as the setup for vendors. The 40 vendors that were in the cafeteria was also crap that no one wanted but to for me it was heaven because oh my gosh my legs hurt from all the walking. After we saw that this flea market sucked we decided to go back to the room and restup before heading to supper. Our hotel was brand new and had a great view of an office building right next door. We stayed on the 16th floor (1602) which was good but the elevator for the hotel was so slow oh my gosh. That night we went to Nic & Stephs steakhouse which was a nice steakhouse. The smallest steak they had was 16oz. Which is really ridiculous because how many people really can eat a 16oz steak without overeating and hurting the rest of the night. It was really good but pricy and the waiter was a jerk but gratutiy was included so he got his fair share. One bad thing about with a big group to a restuarant is getting the ticket right. Waiters just don't seem to be able to split a check. Most of them won't even bother splitting the check and just bring it to you. If they do split it they mix up the appetizer, food, and drink orders where its more complicated if they had not even split it up at all. Well this waiter did split it up right but when we paid he ran my card for jessica's parent and brother's meal and their card for our meal. Which sucked because their meal was about $40 more. Remember I said gratutity was included and man he better be glad. Monday, May 18, 2009 we decided to go Chinatown so we could eat some good chinese food and see the sights. Well in chinatown it was interesting because on every street corner there was somebody saying either rolex, prada, or coach over and over again. Then you would ask them what are they aree saying and they would say do you want rolex? Then they would bring out their inventory of watches. I don't wear watches so this wasn't a problem for me. I have to tell you that if you buy a knockoff brand purse in china town get ready for a ride. They make it seem like your buying drugs or something. They would give a pamplet and make you choose your purse and then they would get on the phone and call a person than you would sit there and wait forever for this guy to bring the purse that your not even sure you want. If you ask them to hurry their like cops too much undercover take time. Which is bull because in Time Square there is people selling these same purses in broad daylight.
That was interesting. My wife bought some I love new york shirts for the whole family even our dog (Stella) got one. Monday night we planned to go to a Yankees game so we had to go get some tickets and we to the Yankees store on 36th and 5th Avenue. Here we went looked at the different sections and prices for the game. We got tickets in section 209 which were in the right field section of the stadium. They were $60 a piece and if you were to go one section over it ould go up to $90 with no better of a view. Basically Yankee tickets are ridiculous priced. Anyway we went to the game and it was fun. The most interesting part was the subway ride over there. First of all the subway is system is not as easy as it seems because first you have to make sure that this subway will go where your headed then you have to make sure your on the one going either downtown or uptown. Then you have to make sure you on the Local one and not the express because the express one doesn't stop but at certain locations. The game was @ 7:05 so we were trying to get there about a hour early so we left our hotel right at 5:00p. We didn't even think about it but that was of course 5 o' clock traffic and the subway was full of people. Well I got the unlucky option of having a little boy squooshed into my crouch the whole way to the game. Which is good because I had on my to-do checklist have a subway experience and that certainly was a subway experience. We finally go to the game and it was so crowded and busy. We got to the gate and they wouldn't let us in because we had bookbags so we had to go find a stand that you had to pay $7 to watch your bag for the duration of the game. Isn't that amazing that someone is making a living off watching bags while people go to a baseball game. The game was good we got to see back to back home runs in the first inning. Yankees won 7 to 6 beating the Minnesota Twins. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 we went to on a New York TV and Movie Tour which took you to famous sites in Manhatton that had been filmed in movies and television. We saw the arch, cosby house, friends building, and other famous locations. We had a cool guide but he was a little obsessed with how television manipulates new york city in their movies. Things normal people would never notice this guy notices and it kinda of neat and wierd all at the same time. He also told to be on the lookout for green little poster signs that were filming permits. These permits shows which movies or shows would be filiming in that location and times. We saw some Sesame Street Movie filming and they were looking for extras with lots of hand bags. Which is kinda of a wierd description but maybe they were teaching kids the word B-A-G or something. That night we wanted to go see a play on broadway so we went to Times Square to buy a ticket. We wasn't sure what we wanted to see so Jess and her mom went to talk to a broadway promoter about which shows were a must see. While we were in Times Square we saw the naked guitar cowboy guy that is on the Today show all the time. I told Jess' little brother to take a picture but he was like who cares about him and I said I bet your mom wants a picture. Needless to say I was right once we told her that we saw him she was like where, where is he???!!! Also in Time Square a guy from The Late Show with David Letterman came up to us offering us free tickets to Wedesday's taping. All we had to do was answer a question to the about the show. We got it right and got tickets for the show. The play we got tickets to is "Reasons to be pretty." The main character in Coyote Ugly was in the play, Piper Perabo. Click on here for a review by a pro on the play. For me it was really intense and had a whole lot of bad language in it. Which for me to say that means it really had a lot of bad language in it. However, over all it was a good play. That night we also got tickets to the HA Comedy Club to see some small time comics do their jokes. Well we had six different comedian do our show. The best out all six was Kenny Ortega. His comedy reminded me of Ralphie May's comedy. He was a large man so he told a lot of fat jokes but overall he had no competition that night. It was really interesting to see that becuase you could tell these comedians were working out material and not professionals the way the told some of their jokes. One guy would pause between each of his jokes and look off into the distance and totally lose the crowd everytime he did it. It was so painful to watch him which made Kenny's set even better after getting past silent guy. The tickets were only $10 but you had to buy a minimum of 2 things off the menu and a 16% gratutity was also thrown in so really it more like a $40 ticket.
Wednesday, May 20, 2009 we took a trip to to see Ground Zero and the statute of Liberty. Once we got the Grond Zero was basically just a construction site. It was blocked off by a fence and the memorial was taken down because of the construction. We did see one memorial for the fireman that died on the back of one the fire stations right next to Ground Zero. On the way to the ferry we saw the famous bull statute. My wife took a picture with its balls which is really wierd. I would have put her pictures on here but she wouldn't let me. We took the Staten Island Ferry to see the statute of liberty. From the Ferry the statute looks really small so if take it make sure you have a high power lens camera. Oh here is funny story about me and my dumb butt at the ferry. On the way into the ferry there was this basketball team trying to raise money for uniforms. Well they were selling starburst and M&Ms for money. They were trying to sell 4 M&M packs for $20 which amounted to $5 a pack. Well the girl came up to me and said hey man whats up don't you want to help a girl out. I said I want just one and I gave a $20 and she handed me four M&Ms and walked away and before I could say anything a guy from the guys team walked up and wanted me to buy 4 starburst packs for $20. Well, I called him a leach and still gave him $20 to get out of my face. So lets break it down I paid $40 for 8 packs of candy. But hey it was for a good cause. Looking back on it I just laugh and promise myself that I will never do something that stupid ever again. After we got off the ferry we had to hurry because we had to be at the Ed Sullivan Theatre at 2:00 to pick up our David Letterman tickets. The David Letterman Show was very interesting because you had to be there at 2 to get the tickets that you already had reserved then you had to show back up at 3:30 to get pepped up and go into the theatre. Then the taping was from 4:30 to 5:30. Basically this taping takes up close to 4 hours of your time by the time you get the tickets, go into the theatre, and watch the taping. If you do go to a taping get ready to clap because basically you will be applauding the entire show. We were real excited about the show becaue Stephen Colbert was going to be on the show. I wanted to so bad to see his show but the book we read made it out like it was almost impossible to get ticket to his show that we didn't even try. This turned out great for us that we were going to be able to get to see him and David Letterman all at the same time. It was a really cool experience to see how they through a television show together like that. After the show we went and ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp. I like the restuarant but it was annoying that it seemed liked every school in town was having some kind of junior high party here for some reason. I guess they were celebrating being out of school because of the swine flu. After eating we went to the ESPN zone and went up the third floor and played in the arcade room. This was awesome because we got left while the ladies went shopping. Thusday, May 21, 2009 the ladies went to the Today Show. I didn't go because they got up at like 4 o' clock in the moring to go get in line.
After that we had to get our bags packed and head back to the Hospitality state.

Good thing to remember when going to New York is to take Baby Powder. Lots and lots of baby powder.

Funniest thing that happened while we were there was one night on the subway a homeless man got on there that only had one tooth. He stood in the middle of the train and yelled outload "Ladies and Gentlemen, I do not mean to disturb you but I need some support. The only gift I have to give is my voice and I would love to sing you a song." Then he starts singing a song to my wife and my wife covers her nose because of the smell of this man. I am over there laughing so hard I can't stand myself. However, the man did get some money from other tourist so I guess it does pay off to do his little routine. After we got off of the train he got arrested for either disturbing the peace or for his smell.

I thought the show was great seeing that we have waited since March of 2006 for another release from Tater. You Can't Fix Stupid This release was a long time waiting. To me I was just relieved because we went to see him when he came to Vicksburg and the whole time I was thinking all this is new stuff why don't he put it in a new special. Well he did and all the stuff I loved from his standup was in there. All of the reviews from above talk about his profanity and amount of jokes to do with sex. Well my answer to that is when you listen to comedy know the source. If you know Ron White's comedy you know its going to pushing the envelope and be on the edgy side. To me he is just so interesting the way he tells stories and the way he delivers the punchline. The reviews tell you its not worth the money but if you look at Amazon the DVD is $10 and it includes 35 more minutes that isn't shown on TV. Plus you get it uncensored and with Ron White comedy that is a necessity. Most of his jokes was bleeped out on the special. The DVD will not have this problem. Plus its ten bucks plus shipping. Just buy a couple more DVDs and you wont even have to pay shipping.

I never really do this on here but I thought some real funny things happened today that I thought I needed to put on here. First, I was at dinner with my wife and her family and we were talking about all the showers that my wife and her mother were going to recently. Then, my mother in law said that sometimes she wishes to be a man so she wouldn't have to go to all these showers. I said to my brother in law that I don't think I have ever wished to be a woman. He agreed with that statement. Funny thing is right after that we walked outside and it was raining and my wife was like go get the car. At that moment I said to myself man I ate my words very quickly. I guess I have said it to myself now that I think about it. Another thing I think is funny is that my mother in law is hosting a Bonko game at her house. I never have understood Bonko. A bunch of church women get together to roll dice. I don't really know the rules but I know its a good thing to roll three sixes. Which I think is hilarious seeing that three sixes is the devils number. My wife joins these people and rags me about my poker habit. In poker three sixes are good hand but in no way is that the best hand. Or is it a hand you shoot for. Well thats just some things I thought was funny. Whatever, I be back later this week and post about some comedians.

Chris Porter is a well known comedian from season 4 of "Last Comic Standing." He says in his interview at comedy central that his comedian idol is Mitch Hedburg. This is not surprising seeing that he picked a bright tie dye background with a symbol that looks like a mushroom for his comedy special. Don't judge his comedy by the background because it not all "let get high and have the munchies." I love the part when he says no wonder women are always in a bad mood when they have their epidermis ripped off every morning. "Exfoliating"... Hopefully you be able to find the full airing of his special on comedy central. Nothing was listed for it when I posted this. Make sure you visit the post with his videos. UPDATE: 3/13/2011- Last Sunday Daniel Tosh did his special "Happy Thoughts" and caused this post to have 300 views in one week. This happened because of his reference to Jim Gaffigan in his special by saying "HOT POCKETS!!!" I wonder why in the world he did this reference maybe because someone has told him in the past that his delivery and some tendencies he does have similiarities to Gaffigan. Who knows but when it happened my brain went crazy and I rewinded the special five times to make sure what happened really happened. I knew this would make people search Tosh and Gaffigan and so I went online and this post was blowing up. Please watch the video I posted earlier this year... I have to say though I did like the his joke about Babe Ruth in "Happy Thoughts" it was very clever.

UPDATE: This is by far the most visited page of my site. I think this is the case because other people notice the same thing I noticed. That Daniel Tosh in his Completely Serious special was very familiar to Jim Gaffigan. Please leave a comment of why you did a google search of Daniel Tosh and Jim Gaffigan so I know if other people think the same about the vidoes below.

I watched this comedian and for some reason his voice reminded me so much of Jim Gaffigan little funny voice that makes fun of himself that I couldn't pay attention to most of his jokes.... The whole time I was thinking he is so stealing from Jim Gaffigan so I really didn't get to pay attention to the material.. He also kinda of does his material like Jim Gaffigan. That guy is a like a Snapple ... ha ha.. A Snapple that taste like Jim Gaffigan's voice...

For me I really don't get the whole the whole pale thing.. He looks like a normal tone to me.. Maybe its a play on words I don't get..

King Baby's DVD

King Baby started out perfect for me because Jim's opening bit was about how gay bowling is.. Ironically Saturday, March 28, 2009 I went bowling with my wife and her work for Big Brothers Big sisters. I found saying that is so true to everything he said. By the way Jarious Norwood the running back from the Atlanta Falcons was there making a "celebrity" appearance.. My wife took like three pictures of him barely knowing who he was.. Lucky for him she went to Miss State where he went to college and was the star of the team. .. By the way he kicked my butt at bowling along with my wife... Needless to say I really suck at bowling. Another funny thing is that a local DJ Bender from Y101's Nate and Bender Morning Show was there and she took a picture with him. This is funny to me because in May we are going to New York and I'm sure it won't take that big a celebrity to be there for her to go crazy.. However if I ran into Stephen Colbert out there I have to say I would be like the paparazzi on Brittney Spears.

A man in southern China kissed his girlfriend so passionately, she partially lost her hearing after he ruptured her eardrum, Reuters reported Monday.

The woman in her 20s went completely deaf in her left ear, the China Daily said, citing a report in a local newspaper.

"The kiss reduced pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear," the paper quoted a doctor from the hospital as saying.

The woman's hearing would likely return to normal after about two months, according to the report.

Demetri Martin is a person who lives in New York. He performs stand-up comedy for fun and money.

He has a DVD called Demetri Martin. Person.

When he was younger he went to college and law school. He dropped out of law school, because it was boring.

Now he travels to places where people speak English so that he can tell his jokes to them. He had a job as a writer at "Late Night with Conan O'Brien". He performed on the "Late Show with David Letterman", Comedy Central Presents Demetri Martin, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and some of the other television shows that have comedians.

Sometimes he gets to appear on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart as their resident trendspotter. Also, they allow him to have free food from their offices.

Demetri won trophies for comedy. One of them was the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival in 2003. The magazine Entertainment Weekly put him on the list of the 25 funniest people in America. He was number 21.

Demetri has brown hair. He is allergic to peanuts. He loves making things. And he knows at least 20 people who are funnier than he is (in America).

Russell Peters is a funny Canadian that has an Indian heritage. Most of the humor is racially based (or maybe regionally based would be a better description), but funny. Certainly less offensive than most racially humorous comedians...I would actually argue that he's not offensive at all.

Plus, his impersonations of the numerous types of Asians speaking English (which he claims is the way to distinguish between types of Asians) is hilarious.

Over the holiday break I Tivoed (if thats a word) some comedy and I thought I would share it with you. The first one I taped was Gerry Dee: No reading ahead. This special is kinda of old but I knew the comedian from the show Last Comic Standing. At first I didn't think I was going to like it but it was really hilarious. The video below is some the material that was in the show. I cannot believe this guy was a teacher. His comedy about being a kid or teaching a kid really can relate to anybody.

Henry Cho: Whats that clicking noise... Is another special I watched on comedy central that is really good. Below is only part of the special that he does about women and their talking. Just thought it funny not funny funny... You have to got to hear about his friend Jonly Bonly from the planet Boldly Go...

Now I will give you some that I thought you need to stay away from. I watched a Stephen Lynch special about two years ago and really liked it. His whole show is funny songs that he sings and plays on the guitar. So this year he had a new special on Comedy Central and I watched it. Well I didn't make it all the way through it because for some reason his comedy started making me real uncomfortable. This was really wierd for me because I usually like edgy comedy that makes people uncomfortable. However, my grandfather just passed away this past year and once I heard his "Grandfather" song. I just turned it off. Below is a song he sings about Jesus' brother Craig which is not a favorite of mine either and then the next one is the grandfather song. I put these on here for you to be the judge and not to just take my word for it..

I know that in a former post I supported Larry the Cable Guy's Christmas special but when I watched it I stopped watching after the first 20 minutes. It was just really riduculous and not for me. If you haven't watched the Stephen Colbert special I really suggest that you either buy it or Tivo it. It is hilarious... I'm going to find a Meg and nut it... Do it meg...

My Top 20 List

If you ever search for a top list of comedians... You will find many list but most of them will have the comedians that started it all like Bill Cosby or Steve Martin and others. Well, I'm in my mid twenties so I'm not the biggest fan of the older comedians like Richard Pryor. However, I respect them because without them we wouldn't have come this far in comedy. That is why I formed this list so finally people around my age that loves comedy would have a list.

1. Rodney Carrington- Well this guy for me started it all because he was coming out big when I was a teenager. He just came out with a great DVD about a year ago called Rodney Carrington: Live at the Majestic.

Below is a song he does on there.... Warning!!!!!!!!!! Only for men to watch... If you are a woman and you watch the video then comment on my page that proves that women don't listen.

2. Dave Chapelle: I got to say he is one funny man.... The Dave Chapelle Show is awesome...

6. Jim Carrey - This guy as recently tried to become a real drama actor with his role in the movie 23, but his role in Dumb and Dumber will always be a classic. So many quotable things from that movie... Yes he also use to do stand up... See below...

I'm writing this post about a very large comedian in both weight and talent. Ralphie May is the comedian that came in second to Dat Phan on the first season of "Last Comic Standing." I like Dat Phan but there was no way he was better than Ralphie. You can tell now because Ralphe has had four comedy central specials. The only reason that I can think of that he lost is because Dat Phan has cleaner comedy in that the whole act is about his parents and their crazy Korean culture.

Ralphie May: Just Correct (2004)

Ralphie May: Girth of a Nation (2006) Warning!!!! This one talks about being retarded a lot so if you get offended real easily you might want to stay away from this one.... Forget that if you get offended real easily you have no business even thinking about listening to Ralphie because he pushes the envelope in almost every part of his shows. He loves to see how far he can go and get people all riled up.

Ralphie May: Prime Cut (2007)

This is the DVD that every Ralphie fan must have. I had it on my DVR from when it came on comedy central about a year ago. Here recently our great (sarcasm) cable company Comcast updated their system and deleted all my comedy that was saved on there so now I have to buy the DVD. This routine of his is flawless from the beginning when he does his mullet bit. "I just set up a deer stand outside of Waffle House and watch' em come in. I will just sit up all day long and just call em .... Mullet Mullet... Nascar Nascar.." The funniest part of this DVD is the part where he talks about getting your man a gift. This really works around this part of the season with Christmas coming up and all. "Women why do you go out and shop for gifts when the two best gifts you can give us is absolutely freeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!." Only one of the gifts is sexual so settle down...The second gift will shock you and make you laugh so hard that your need a mop...

You might want to watch with your sunglasses on because of his bright orange jacket. Wow!! I guess he likes oranges or something. Who cares anyway all I watch him for is his humor so who cares what he looks like right. A lot of the comedy is from his first routine Just Correct so if you have seen it then you will recognize a bunch of the same stuff. However, it is got some new stuff with the bit about Cuban food and the Denver airport.. "Hey black man on a golf cart... black man on a golf cart!!!!."

This will be my fist review and the reason I'm using Jeff Dunham as my first review is because he came out with a Christmas special and he is hilarious. Correction his characters are hilarious since he is a ventriloquist. His characters consist of the following:

Walter, a bitter old man ( in all three DVDs)
Peanut, the purple monkey looking creature ( in all three DVDs)
José Jalapeño on a stick ( in all three DVDs)
Achmed the Dead Terrorist ( the funniest by far) (Spark of Insanity and Christmas Special)
Bubba J ( white trash trailer park) (Arguing with Myself and Christmas Special)
Melvin the Superhero (Spark of Insanity)
Sweet Daddy D. (Jeff's manager (pimp)) ( Arguing with Myself)

This is the DVD of when I learned about Jeff Dunham's because I was going through the clearance sales of stand up and it was listed for $7 three years ago and it actually has now went up because he is getting so popular. His youtube videos are out of this world on the popularity scale. Anyway this dvd is really good because in this is the only one you see a lot of Sweet Daddy D which is Jeff's pimp which you won't see on any of the other DVD's. My favorite line of his is "You the hoe." He is a player in a management profession. (P.I.M.P.)

Jeff Dunham: Spark of Insanity

This is the DVD most people know him for is because of his most famous character is introduced in this one. Achmed the Dead Terrorist is the star of the show "Shut up or I'll kill you" gets me every time. This is definitely worth getting because you will watch over and over again. The you tube video of Achmed is like up to 73 million views. This is insane for a comedian routine.

The reason I'm writing this post is because of his newest release and that is

This comedy special I was looking forward to because I knew that Achmed would be doing his Christmas song "Jingle Bombs."

The special over a whole on comedy central seems really short because it has many breaks in between the comedy. In no way is this one better than Spark of Insanity. However, the Bubba J part of the show was very creative by Jeff. I really enjoyed his part because it was all new and original. The Peanut part of the show I usually look forward to but this time it was a little annoying especially the NyQuil and Red bull part. I think Jeff was trying to show his untouchable skill of ventriloquism. I wish Jeff would have had all his characters on this special. Melvin the superhero and Sweet Daddy D didn't make the show which I know could have been used in the show. Overall this is worth watching for getting in the Christmas spirit.

This Sunday Stephen T. Colbert (my favorite pundit) is having a Christmas special on Comedy Central.

This blog is going to be a place where I can let people know about comedians that I listen to and admire. Also, I wanted to start this to let people also educate me of comedians that I might not know about. I've been interested in comedy a lot since about 2003. I am from the South so I do have bias that I like most comedians from the South. I listen to Blue Collar Comedy channel on Sirius channel 103 and this is really what got me learning and loving comedy. They play a whole more comedians than just the four main guys. If you don't have sirius you can listen to aol radio and listen to the Comedy Attack!! channel for free. On a lighter side, if I could give advice to comedians out there that wants to get noticed have a last name that starts with Q, U, or X that way you will be featured on Comedy centrals comedy search when someone searches that letter. Just for an example the only comedian listed on comedy central under X is Xohn Xmith. Come on that's not a real name the person doesn't have a picture when you press the link. I could be Xohn Smith for all anybody knows. I just thought that was funny but yeah it worked that name got me to notice him. I guarantee I'm the only blog featuring the comedian Xohn Xmith. Warning !!! in no way do I endorse Xohn Xmith comedy for I have not heard his routine or have ever heard of him before.
